April - May

April

We began the month with a six-person accreditation team visit from the Association of Biblical Higher Education. Think of this as a routine doctor’s appointment.

It takes a series of tests and a physical for the doctor to make sure you are healthy. Over a year’s worth of work resulted in 300-400 pages of reports that we submitted in February. This allowed our ‘physicians’ to gather necessary information before their 4-day visit. This onsite checkup included a thorough review of files, policies, procedures, etc.; interviews with staff, faculty, students, and board members; and discussions in areas they wanted to clarify. Our initial ‘prognosis’ was positive in many ways. We already knew of a few growing pains that we are working through, so there were no major surprises. The team’s report and our follow-up report, due September 15, will be evaluated by the Commission on Accreditation in February 2025. At that point, we will get our reaffirmation results.

PRAISE: In a time when we are seeing many Christian colleges closing, we praise God for continuing to use Faith to fulfill His mission to reach the world for His glory. Thank you for your prayers through all of this!

PRAY: Please pray as we record evidence of progress for our September 15 report. Please also pray for FBC’s finances for this coming academic year. (We are responsible for the team’s expenses and visit, so pennies are tight this summer!)

May

FBC celebrated four graduates with their families and friends. As an FBC first, all four of our graduates earned their Associate degrees in Biblical Studies! In his commencement address, Chaplain Dale Parker continued to challenge them as he has done throughout their studies at FBC. And what a testimony each one had as they shared their journey of faith and at Faith! These family smiles speak for themselves! (Sharon & Janice are sisters in law, so they share a family photo!)

Look at the proud Graduates!!

PRAISE: We thank God for these ladies. Every one of them has uniquely added to our FBC family!

PRAY: Please pray not only for the growth of our current students, but also for God’s continuing guidance and ministry in the lives of our alumni. We’ll never know this side of Heaven how God is multiplying their reach around the world!

Also in May…

It takes a village of participants to have a successful golf tournament!

Folks representing our outstanding sponsors

This year’s 8th Annual Hap Cup at the beautiful Sewells Point Golf Course included a record number of 74 players in 19 teams! And with our Title Sponsor, Strickland Homes, LLC, leading the pack, we also had a record number of 16 sponsors who made this event possible! Churches, businesses, ministries, and caring individuals joined together to create a fun, family event. Competition was evident with two ties between the 1st —4th teams. Winners ranged from teenagers to those in their seventies! Championship flight winners were Teams Bray, E. Parker, and Pierce; 1st Flight winners were Teams Nance, Vogler, and Moore; and 2nd Flight winners were Teams Terhune, Garrick, and FitzGibbons. Thanks to all who participated! We’ll see you on Friday, May 16, 2025!

PRAISE: We praise God for this growing event that exposes more people to the work of Faith Bible College while raising money to help FBC reach even more students in the classroom.

PRAY: Summers are always lean months for colleges and FBC is no exception. Please pray that God will continue to supply our needs through not only our faithful donors, but with new donors who want to share in training Christians for His service.
