June - July

June

The staff represented FBC at the a 3-day Home Educators Association of Virginia’s Annual Convention in Richmond. This HEAV event draws thousands of homeschool families from across the Mid-Atlantic states.

In addition to our FBC tables, this year Kevin Newman and Lydia Hall led a workshop on 2 Keys to Short-Term Missions: Learning How to Be Culturally and Spiritually Equipped. We also produced a terrific devotional for those preparing for a missions trip. (If your church group is preparing for a missions trip, let us know! We’d love to help!)

PRAISE: Praise God that we can continue to share with our large homeschool community about the fantastic opportunities FBC has to offer.

PRAY: Please pray for more students this fall, including Christian dual enrollment students from home, private, and public schools. Also pray for the workshop attendees going on trips this summer.

Also in June…

Through the gifts of a generous donor and her son, Renee Carey attended the Association of Christian Librarians Conference in Minneapolis. She and about 150 of her peers from around the world dug into topics affecting today’s culture, like the effective use of Al in higher education. As convener of ACL’s Solo Librarians Interest Group, Renee especially enjoyed spending time with colleagues and encouraging new solo members.

PRAISE: We praise God that Renee was able to ‘recharge’ her professional batteries through this event and gain valuable information to apply at FBC.

PRAY: Please pray that the FBC staff and faculty be able to catch their breath from this busy spring and prepare for a tremendous semester on August 19th.

In July, God answered a request we had asked you to pray about!

Our Academic Dean, Dr. Kevin Jones, is adding the position of Director of Advancement to his responsibilities! Kevin taught with FBC for years before he became our Academic Dean, so he is part of our FBC family and is excited about helping us expand our horizons. He has a heart for further developing our dual enrollment and gap year programs, as well as introducing FBC to new people, schools, and businesses. If you know someone who wants to find out more about FBC, let us know!

We could not have accomplished so much this spring without you!

Thank you! We appreciate you! God is using you, our faithful prayer partners and donors, to accomplish His work through Faith Bible College in ways we never could on our own. Yes, Great is His Faithfulness!
