President Dr. Kevin Newman

What a glorious celebration we had on October 22, 2022 as we welcomed Dr. Kevin Newman as our 6th President of Faith Bible College. The Virginia Voices Int'l sang beautifully. Dr. Tony Buchanan, our former ABHErep, wonderfully shared his unique perspective on FBC's journey. Faith's co-founder, Dr. Hap Struthers, took us through our past and challenged us to, "Give Jesus what you have, do what He tells you to do, trust Him to perform the impossible, and watch the miracles unfold." Rev. Shannon Terhune, our 5th President and Board Chair, made it official.
Then President Newman shared what he sees God leading us and guiding us to become:
Faith: "The book of Hebrews tells us that faith is the assurance of things hoped for and the confidence of things not seen... it is faith in God and God alone because it is only our faith in God that those miracles (will come), from our unlimited, all-powerful God... We need to have faith so that we never take God out of the equation..."
Bible: "Our foundation is the Word of God. We focus on Scripture, on theology, on ministry. We are not a liberal arts college and I tell you that unapologetically... because it is only the Word of God that can speak to us with any authority at all about this life that we live... My friends, if we are not Grounded in the Word, and if we're not Growing in Christ, we've got nothing to Give Back to the Church in the first place..."
College: "We can train, we can disciple in ways that offer not only degrees, but accreditation that keeps us with standards, keeps us pursuing excellence, and keeps us accountable. And all of this is necessary to produce a product of excellence... Our product are the students who go forth and proclaim both in their words and in their lives Jesus Christ..." "My prayer each day is that God will make us so much more than what we are now. You say, 'What does that look like?' I don't know, but it's okay if I don't know because He does and as long as you and I are walking side-by-side with God, not running ahead of Him, not lagging behind, but walking side-by-side with Him, we will see the doors that He is opening!"
